What services/products do you offer?

Copywriting and Administrative consulting

When did you realize you wanted to become a freelancer?

3 years

What factors determined your choice?

I just quit my job then and decided I didn’t want to be tied down in an office anymore. I knew I had something to offer the world and it was time to start out.

How did you initially feel when you started getting gigs?

I almost blew off my roof. It was an amazing feeling to actually get hired after pitching for a million and one gigs. The pay wasn’t so much at the time but it was more about getting the job for me.

Was it difficult to pitch to potential clients and how did you source for them?

It was very difficult at first, I can’t even remember how many bids I had to make on different websites. I signed up on every freelance website I could find, locally and internationally.

What are the major highlights of your career as a freelancer?

When a company based in the US contacted me for a job. Funny, I didn’t bid for this so it gave me that feeling that I was finally getting the recognition I prayed for.

What are the down-times in your career?

Those times when it seems everyone is avoiding to hire you, that feeling can be crazy. Then the worst for me was when I was scammed by some guy after working myself like a mule. I was still a novice at the time though, it’s not something anyone should experience.

What do you love most about your work?

The freedom that comes with it. I am not caged within the four walls of an office or certain hours of the day.
